Last Saturday, over 80 volunteers gathered at Sunset Cove for a massive beach cleanup event
organized by the Coastal Cleanup Corps. Armed with gloves, bags, and determination, the team
removed more than 500 pounds of plastic, fishing gear, and other debris from the shoreline. The
event also included a short educational session on marine pollution and its impact on local
wildlife. Participants expressed pride in making a visible difference and pledged to return for
future cleanups. Local businesses donated refreshments and supplies, and several families
brought children to learn about ocean stewardship. The collected waste was sorted and
documented to help track pollution sources. This successful event highlighted the power of
community action in protecting coastal environments.
